Short Course Eventing is a big success!

Short Course Eventing/Event Derby compliments the sport of Horse Trials. It is a variation of the Combined Test concept by including Stadium Jumps in the Cross Country Course. Riders begin with a Dressage Test, followed by the combined jumping course. Jumping begins with Stadium fences on our grass Cross Country Course, then without stopping, continues out over solid cross country jumps, and back to finish over more Stadium fences.

The Maryland Horse Trials Short Course offers four levels of competition each increasing in distance and difficulty: Elementary (for Riders or Horse new to the sport of Eventing this year), Beginner Novice, Novice and Training Levels.

Cross Country Schooling

Our Cross Country Schooling course is available daily, by appointment. Please contact us to sign up.

The Highlands competition course is closed to prepare it for the October 13-14 Horse Trials. Many of the jumps are being moved. We are adding some new fences. We are topdressing, reseeding, fertilizing and watering. Capt. Mark Phillips is changing the course and Eric Bull will be here the first week of September with some new jumps and ready to build some new features. Look for great things to come!

Volunteers are needed and greatly appreciated! Please contact Carolyn Mackintosh at 301-514-0111, or go to "Volunteers" link and fill out our volunteers form.
