“Building on last years successful edition of the Bred to Event Classic we are happy to announce this year’s competition. In an effort to accommodate as many potential horses as possible, we have moved the dates of the second Qualifier and the Championships to a little later on the calendar this year. Our idea here is to resolve as many conflicts as possible with the existing calendar.
Our format will be much the same as in previous years with one change for 2026.
Much has been written recently regarding the condition of our sport with every side of this on going debate on full display. Here at Bred to Event we are committed to the importance of the cross country phase and therefore the gallop.
In our ridden classes we will be including a single steeplechase fence for the Four Year Olds and two for the Five Year Olds .
This will occur during the gallop phase at the end of the Cross Country section.
The steeplechase fences will only be on the Four and Five Year Old Championships jumping courses. (They will not be on the Qualifier jumping courses).
This will give our championship judges Phyllis Dawson, Kim Severson, and Robin Walker, one more layer to evaluate within the Gallop Score.
We are looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible and wish best of luck to all those who attend.”
