About the Event
On October 2-4, we are pleased to once again host the Maryland Horse Trials III + Area II Championships at Loch Moy Farm!
After a successful Maryland International CCI + HT, we are delighted to welcome back international cross country course designer Andrew Heffernan for the Maryland Horse Trials III + Area II Championships.
The Maryland Horse Trials III + Area II Championships offers National divisions from Starter through Intermediate. Area II includes competitors from Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. All Area II Championships competitors must qualify throughout the year to compete in championship divisions.
New Tentative 2026 Schedule
Friday, October 2:- 3* & 4* Combined Tests
- All phases: OI, I-Ch, OP, OM, OT
- Dressage & XC: P-Ch and M-Ch
Championship Divisions with SJ as the final phase.
- Saturday: Prelim and Modified Championship divisions – Show Jumping
- Saturday: Starter through Training Championship divisions – Dressage and XC
- Sunday: Starter through Training Championship divisions – Show Jumping
National Divisions (running only 1 day) will be:
Saturday, October 3- Prelim, Mod and Training divisions
- Novice, BN and Starter divisions
Saturday Corgi Races *NEW*
On Saturday, October 3, the Maryland Corgi Cup presented by Major League Eventing is coming to the Maryland Horse Trials III! Make plans to experience these cute fuzzy butts racing to be crowned “the fastest Corgi in Maryland!”
Important Things to Know:
- We will offer 3* & 4* CTs in preparation for the US Equestrian Open Eventing Final at Morven Park the weekend following Maryland Horse Trials III.
- The weekend schedule will be finalized closer to the show date pending entries. Please enter early so we can provide the timeliest information.
- The event is free to spectators and visitors are encouraged to attend. Vendor Row will be hopping just in time for the holidays!
