Loch Moy Farm Annual Awards

  • Teams must be pre-registered for scores to count. Register at: https://forms.gle/TsL5oHBsyneYzEpdA
  • Teams may enter at any time, but only scores from XDerby entries after registration will count.
  • Teams must be made of 3-4 rider/horse combinations.
  • Team members may compete in any or all of the 2025-2026 XDerby competitions (December 20-21, 2025; February 14-15, 2026; March 7-8, 2026). All team members do not have to compete at the same XDerby.
  • A minimum of 2 riders must compete at the same XDerby for scores to count.
  • Riders may compete multiple horses on the same team.
  • Horse and/or rider substitutions are with prior approval from Loch Moy Staff only.
  • The lowest 3 scores per XDerby will count towards series-end awards.
  • A team must have 3 scores per XDerby. If only 2 team members compete, a ghost score of 100 points will be added to that XDerby total.
  • If team members finish on a letter (E, RF, TE, etc) instead of a number, that rider will receive a score of 200.
  • Teams with 0-1 members competing in a XDerby will receive a score of 300 for that XDerby.
  • At the end of the series, the team with the lowest total score wins.

  • A minimum of 2 riders must compete at the same event for scores to count.
  • Riders may compete multiple horses on the same team.
  • Horse and/or rider substitutions are with prior approval from Loch Moy Staff only.
  • The lowest 3 scores per event will count towards series-end awards.

To recognize the lesson horse whose kindness, reliability, and generous spirit have touched the lives of countless riders.

  • Horse/pony must be owned by a licensed riding stable.
  • The riding school/lesson program must be listed as the owner on the entry form
  • Horse’s name must remain the same throughout the competition year
  • Points will be calculated based on the final score from each competition
  • If a horse competes more than once over a competition weekend, the score with the fewest penalty points will be used.

  • Combinations competing in the Championship Divisions at the final competition will earn double points.
  • The trainer with the highest score will be named the 2026 MDHT Highland Series Top Trainer.
  • Points will be awarded as follows:
Regular Divisions Championship Divisions (Oct 31/Nov 1 2026)
1st Place = 10 points 1st Place = 20 points
2nd Place = 8 points 2nd Place = 16 points
3rd Place = 6 points 3rd Place = 12 points
4th Place = 5 points 4th Place = 10 points
5th Place = 4 points 5th Place = 8 points
6th Place = 3 points 6th Place = 6 points
7th Place = 2 points 7th Place = 4 points
8th Place = 1 point 8th Place = 2 points
Adult Amateurs and Junior Riders will receive points based on their placings at each of the 6 Highland Series Horse Trials and Championships. Bonus points will be given to riders who place in the Championship divisions on Oct 31/Nov 1, 2026.
  • Trophy and prizes awarded to the High Point Adult Amateur Rider and Junior Rider at the Highland Series Championship
  • Adult Amateur is defined as any rider 18 years and older as of December 1st, who does not accept compensation for their services. A Junior rider is any rider 17 years and younger.
  • Points will be awarded as follows:
